Ceftazidime + Tazobactam Injection is a combination of a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic (Ceftazidime) and a beta-lactamase inhibitor (Tazobactam). Ceftazidime works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, thereby killing the bacteria. Tazobactam enhances its efficacy by inhibiting beta-lactamase enzymes produced by resistant bacteria, making the combination effective against a wide range of multidrug-resistant Gram-negative and some Gram-positive bacteria.

Indications:

• Lower respiratory tract infections (e.g., pneumonia)

• Urinary tract infections

• Intra-abdominal infections

• Skin and soft tissue infections

• Bone and joint infections

• Septicemia

• Infections caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa and other resistant strains

Dosage and Administration:

• Administered via intravenous (IV) injection

• Dosage and duration as per physician’s direction, based on infection severity and patient condition

Contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity to cephalosporins, penicillins, or beta-lactam antibiotics
